Hello, Praying Friends. 4-2-26
Greetings from sunny Florida. We are currently breathing again after having had a super busy late-winter. In February we had our annual Missions Revival. This year we invited one of our supported missionaries and one that is sent from my home sending church, Cozaddale Baptist Temple. Brother Steven Harris and his wife Peggy flew in from Magdalena, Mexico, to preach and be a part of the conference. Brother Steve Perkins and his wife Kristi drove in. Brother Perkins is a missionary evangelist helping small, struggling churches and reaffirming the doctrines that we all believe. Both men grew up in missionary church-planting homes and had a wealth of wisdom to share with us. The messages were tremendous.
Our Faith-Promise commitments increased! We currently support 8 missions projects and hope to take on two more in the near future. The week after the missions meeting Brother Perkins helped me with some necessary construction projects, which is one of the encouraging ways he ministers to pastors.
The Perkins also helped out a lot with extra outreach that second week. We are so privileged to be a small part of God’s great big plan of reaching the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
In March we were blessed to hold a Youth Extravaganza as an opportunity to get the Gospel to the lost children in our community. Brother Tim & Sis. Jessica McCrory were handed the reigns of the whole event and did a tremendous job. The skits, games, preaching, and competitions were well thought
out and executed. Around 20 young people attended with a few indicating that they had put their faith in Christ. We are exploring ways that that we may be able to do more outreach events for the youth of Homestead. We truly have a lot to praise God for! Although we desire to have our own building, we
cannot complain about the property we are able to use for these type of events and ministries and for our services. In addition, we praise God that Brother Robert Seonarain, one of our earliest converts, owns a tent rental company and refuses payment for his crew setting up tents for our outdoor events! He was saved from door to door outreach.
We also rejoice in the fact that we just celebrated five years of being here in Homestead, FL. Boy did that go fast! We arrived 03/01/2021 in the midst of Covid craziness. We found out where we lived, and first laid eyes on our house when we pulled in with a U-Haul full of stuff. We were rejected by almost everyone we talked to about renting meeting space. Others were extremely restrictive and, because of the pandemic, were charging outrageous prices and offering very limited spaces with scattered seating to meet local health protocols. Then, God opened up the Moose property. They had a little building (approximately 28 x 16 ft.) We would not have chosen this spot, but God had a plan. They only charged us $600/month and had few restrictions. That lasted a year and a half. After that we met briefly at a
school cafeteria. From there we spent nearly two years in a rented building in a really bad neighborhood. Murders near our property were common. The week we moved in, there was a 16-year old teen shot and his body dumped on the street two blocks from our front door. The week we finally moved from there, an 18-year old man was shot while carrying his instrument home from church on a Sunday night, about 150 feet out our back door. They killed him for only $80. Needless to say, we were longing to move, while preaching faithfulness and thanking God that we, at least, had a place to meet. Alas, God moved us to the leasing situation we are currently in. We recently renewed our oneyear lease. We are in a better area, in an actual church building, and have usage of the grounds.
To celebrate our five years, Pastor Burke came in to preach a Saturday night & Sunday meeting. As usual, the messages were exactly what we needed. The Ferguson family also voluntarily traveled
down from Cozaddale with smoked meat in tow and put on a phenomenal celebratory meal. They served the meal to us and helped in other ways as well.
*Prayer Requests: We are waiting on God for a building. Please pray with us about this. We have
also had some recent visitors. Please pray for them to return and for more to come. Pray also for things to stay stable and to not move backwards. Please pray with us about organizing and becoming autonomous on our seventh anniversary. Our Pastor is giving guidance in this. I know this may seem like an easy decision, but please consider the following scenario. We expend a lot of effort in evangelism. However, if we don’t grow much until then, this church will most-likely be pastored by a
bi-vocational pastor. This area has a sky high cost of living. I expect that most of my support, which is my income, will cease fairly quickly. If I go into the work force, I will be a 60-year old man, who has been in full-time ministry for nearly 35 years, re-entering the workforce. Of course I can travel some and conduct conferences & revival meetings, but that would have to be limited and selective so the church here does not suffer. On top of all of this, God hasn’t revealed the next chapter of ministry to me as of yet. It could mean staying for a time of further stabilization and then moving elsewhere to plant another church. Or it could mean pastoring here until I finish my course, while trying to establish works from Homestead. I am transparent with our men and they are praying for the Lord to lead every step of the way.
Please keep us in your prayers so that we would always do His perfect will. Thanks for all your love, giving, and prayers for us. We appreciate it so much!
Pressing on,

Greetings, Praying Friends.
Praise God!
God has been good to us for the past few months. These have been very busy times. We had our annual Pie and Praise at our home for the church’s Thanksgiving service. We were a little tight as you can see in the pictures on the left. Our fellowship spilled into the living room and out onto the back patio as we shared a blessed time of praising God and enjoying great food and fellowship!
In the pictures on the right are from our annual Christmas party. We had about 25 church folks in attendance. It was a wonderful time spent fellowshipping, playing group games, and doing a white elephant gift exchange. Early in December, our family had the opportunity to fly to Chicago and drive to where two of our daughters live in Illinois. There the whole family converged for a wonderful few days of fellowship, squeezing grandbabies, doing a gift exchange, and enjoying a Christmas dinner. We are doubly thankful for the birth of our Saviour and the love of family. In late December, we had the blessing of seeing Ms. Kennisha’s daughter Kenniyah saved. On January 4th, I had the privilege of baptizing her and Ms. Desiree (the sister of Chanera who is already a church member). The water was a little cool, but it was wonderful to see them following Jesus!
A few weeks ago, the Lord allowed us to have Brother Steve Damron stop by and preach to us on a Tuesday night. Last Saturday night and Sunday, we had Dr. Rick Carter and his wife swing by. He preached to us for a few days on the subject of wisdom. We greatly benefited from these men stopping by while in the region.
Two days ago, on Sunday, Jim and Chrissy Freed walked the aisle and presented themselves for membership. For the previous five months, they had been attending services and checking out who we were and what we were about. Recently, while we were patiently waiting to see if they wanted to join, they reached out to us, asking to meet about church membership. They were eager to be new members, once God gave the green light. Thank you for praying for souls to be saved. Thank you for praying for the saved to follow the Lord in baptism and subsequent membership. Thank you for praying that God would also send us some solid families / mature believers. These are our constant prayer requests and it is amazing to see God answering these requests.
The next big thing on our calendar is our Missions Revival. We start on February 15th and will go through the 18th. Missionaries Steve Harris, who is sent from our home-sending church, and Evangelist Steve Perkins, whom we support, will be with us that week. In addition, the Perkins’ will stay with us an extra week to do an extra outreach push.
Although our desire is to see this church organized and autonomous, we do not want to rush the work, instead waiting until it is stable and ready. We have seen the effects of a rushed process in our immediate area. Before our arrival in Homestead, a Baptist church here that was started well - experienced their original pastor leaving after five years with little forewarning. The church then went through various pastors until landing on a pastor who is hyper-dispensational and who, some time ago, had a man in the pulpit who is on his fourth wife. We understand that some churches only
support home-church planters for a designated timeframe. We want them to follow the Lord. We greatly appreciate every supporting church body, no matter how long they support us. But God has been dealing with me directly to be patient with the organizing of this assembly until His Holy Spirit gives the green light to both myself and my sending pastor, Pastor Travis Burke. There are a few things we would like to see before we organize. We need our own meeting place! PLEASE PRAY FOR THIS! We also need the church finances to increase. PLEASE PRAY FOR THIS!
Thanks for all your love, giving, and prayers for us. We appreciate it so much!
In Christ’s great love,
Brother Ted and Family
