Missionaries to Scotland
January 2026
Dear Prayer Partners,
Around the beginning of January, Michael surrendered to become the pastor of our church-plant here in Scotland. Praise the Lord! As you know, he surrendered to preach a couple of years ago, and I’ve been training him for the ministry. I’ve known for some time that God was calling him to become the pastor here, so we can go on and do more church-planting. To be clear, we’re still training Michael, and it will still be some time before he is ready to take the church. But please be in prayer for me as I train him, and for Michael and his wife Jamie, that they will be ready to step into the ministry here, in God’s time.
Later in January, I had the privilege of marrying Eva and Euan (left picture), two of the members of our church-plant. Both Eva and Euan were saved in our ministry, so it has been a blessing to watch the Lord work in both of their lives, and bring them together as man and wife. Eva and Euan have both faced a lot of pressure from their unsaved family members, but they have both been faithful to the Lord, in spite of it. Please pray for Eva, as she is expecting a baby this November, and for Euan, as he has had some recent health problems.
On the first Sunday of February, our church-plant celebrated it’s ninth anniversary (right picture). It was a blessing to have Pastor Todd Grimes and his wife Joyce with us, from Bible Baptist Church in Duncan, OK. Bro Grimes challenged the members of our church-plant to be faithful, so the church can have many more anniversaries to come!
While there have been many blessings over the past few months, there have also been some difficult times. One of the key families in our church-plant decided to leave, and go to a different church. They had been with us since 2020, so everyone in the church has taken it very hard. However, the Lord has used this time to bring the rest of us closer to one another. Please pray that the Lord will carry us through this rough patch, and work all things together for good. May the Lord bless you all, Missionary Don Clough
Hello from Scotland,
I just sent a prayer letter last week, but I have some great news that I couldn’t wait to share.
PRAISE
As you probably know, there’s a man named Michael in our church who has surrendered to the ministry. We’ve been praying that the Lord would specifically call him to become the pastor of our church-plant since that time. Well, this past Sunday, Michael asked to speak to me privately, and told me that the Lord had clearly showed him that he was to become the pastor of our church-plant, and that he had surrendered to it. Praise the Lord!
Obviously, there is still work to be done, when it comes to his training, and preparation for becoming the pastor of this church.
PRAYER REQUESTS
1) Please pray with us, that the Lord will continue to help Michael grow and develop as a preacher, and prepare him to become the leader that he needs to be.
2) Also, please pray for his wife Jamie, that she will grow in her faith, and in her walk with the Lord, that she might fully support her husband in his calling.
3) And please pray for us, that the Lord will work out His plans for our family, and our future church-planting endeavours.
May the Lord bless you all,
Missionary Don Clough
