Missionaries to Boulder, Colorado

Dear Pastors, Supporting Churches, and Friends,
I want to bring you up to speed on our building situation, with a bit of history.
Rim Rock Church was established as Friendship Baptist Church in 1973 and is affiliated with the SBC. When I began canvassing this area at the end of 2019, I contacted them about renting space for Bible studies. They asked me to meet in person, and in that meeting told me their pastor had resigned the same week I sent my email — and asked whether I would be open to candidating. I knew there would be complications, so I told them we would need more detailed conversations. Shortly after, Pastor Smith had a stroke, and knowing I was needed in Platteville, I set aside all other efforts. Rim Rock brought on Karl Atkinson, a local retired pastor.
In late 2024, a family now attending our church informed me that Karl was resigning at year's end. I met with him, shared what we were doing in Bailey, and he told me Rim Rock's membership had continued to dwindle. He said he would recommend the church turn the building over to BBC, though I don't know whether that was ever formally done.
In January 2025 I contacted Rim Rock about using their baptistry. They allowed us to, and I learned they had brought on Dan Dilley, a former pastor who had served them briefly years prior. We used their facility several times, and I had coffee with Dan in October 2025. He shared that he was struggling to lead an elderly congregation resistant to change. In January 2026, he abruptly resigned, along with their music director. I contacted their church secretary, Carma, who has since visited our Thursday services and watches online regularly, and she said the remaining seven members don’t really have a plan forward and are looking for leadership in what to do next.
Ridgeview Baptist Church in Denver recently closed — a congregation that had similarly dwindled, whose pastor was suffering from dementia. Pastor Miller at Foothills Baptist is overseeing the dissolution, and we received many items for the work here. But seeing another church close was a heavy burden, and it looked far too much like where Rim Rock was heading.
After talking with my pastor, I contacted Mark Olson, Rim Rock's SBC advisor. Mark is a former Independent Baptist who knows of many churches in this area. He shares our concern for Rim Rock and was genuinely excited about another Baptist church being planted here — and very open to us taking over that work. He is going to meet with Rim Rock in the next few weeks and present this to them as an option. Our lease is up in mid-May, so the timing for us is right.
If this moves forward, the building would come under Cozaddale Baptist Temple until we organize. Rim Rock owns the building outright, and the deed is in the name of the church — not the SBC.
Would you please pray with us over this matter? Our request is simple — that the Lord would move on the hearts of their remaining seven members. The building is in good shape and in an excellent location, and this would be a huge step forward, allowing us to redirect some of our rent toward missions and other expenses.

2025 In Review January 2, 2026 Dear Pastors, Supporting Churches, and Friends, Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ! Salvation The Lord blessed this year with four souls saved: John and Brooke Hall, Naomi Soued, and Isaac Soued, making a total of six souls saved since we started here. Baptisms We had 10 baptisms this year: the 4 mentioned above, and 6 others who had professions of faith and wanted to follow the Lord in believers’ baptism. This brings our membership (including me and Tammy) to 12. We have two other families that attend faithfully that we are working with toward membership. Discipleship We continue to work through the ABC’s of Christian Growth with our new members. I am in the planning stages of institute classes for our men (and potentially others) in the church which we plan to begin in early 2026. Evangelism Participation in Evangelism has increased! When we started, it was just me, my wife and Lilly, but now we have an average of 10 people going out every Saturday. Evangelism here is a bit different than what I’m used to, with long winding driveways and low population density. We are typically out of cell phone range, and it’s easy to get separated, so we purchased several GMRS radios to keep in communication with each other, and work through specific areas as a group. Building While we wait on the Lord for a permanent location, we are making the best of what we have now. We moved into a larger storefront location at the same complex in May, with a private bathroom, kitchen area, and office which has made a nice prayer room / nursery. We had a lighted sign made which can be seen from the highway and have had many first-time visitors from the improved visibility! Our men built a platform, and we have materials purchased and plans drawn up to build a pulpit, which David Soued is building. Abby Soued has been learning piano and praying for an acoustic piano for the church. I found a small business in Denver that buys quality used pianos, overhauls the regulation, cleans up the body, and resells them. They are extremely generous in their pricing to churches. Abby spent several hours playing different pianos, and we settled on one which is currently being restored. We expect to take delivery in late January. This would not be possible without your financial support, which we are eternally grateful for. 2 First Lords Supper With 12 saved and baptized members in attendance, we observed our first “Lord’s Supper”. Some of our members, who had participated in versions of this prior to joining BBC, noted how different it was to do this biblically as a church family. It is such a joy to see God’s people growing in their understanding of the things of the Lord! Engagement! God blessed with the engagement of Jeremiah Soued and Tara Spicer, with the wedding next week. We will be welcoming Tara to the membership of the church in January! The Homefront We had a major windstorm come through which knocked out power for a few days before Christmas. Some official reports had winds at over 120 mph, while a neighbor clocked 116 mph on his weather station. We had some trees uprooted, but thankfully there was no serious damage to the house or buildings. While we didn’t lose anything to spoilage, we did discover that our propane powered generator is not quite large enough, so we will be looking at replacing it with a larger one. We enjoyed our first Christmas with our granddaughter (and of course her parents!) this year. What a joy it is to watch young godly parents raising children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord! Monthly Support The ministry has grown to the point that full-time employment and full-time ministry work are taking its toll. The Lord has been dealing with me about raising monthly support so that I can leave secular work and focus full time on the ministry here. This will require a fair amount of travel for me, and weekends away from the ministry here. Please pray with me for the support needed for me to leave my full-time job and focus solely on the ministry work. Prayer Requests • The Lord would send 2 more families in 2026. • The growth of our people. • For families that have been visiting to join. • Salvation for Jayden, Gus, Liam, Bill, and Kim.
